5.      Home Campaign Update April 2016 Amount Pledged is $1,010,490. The parish should receive over 50% of the amount collected during the course of the campaign. Amount received by the parish through March 2016 is $209,400.
Campaign projects that have been completed to date include installing security cameras on church and school buildings, as well as in the gym, to improve the safety and security of parishioners, students and visitors on our campus. Lighting and electrical have been upgraded on the outside of the gym, the Parish Life Center and the school buildings to make those cameras as effective as they can be at night. A new fire alarm system connecting all campus buildings will be installed this summer and plans are being developed for the renovations and improvements necessary in the Parish Life Center. Many, many thanks to all you wonderful parishioners who contributed to and helped with the Home Campaign.
6.      The book fair will be held April 25th - 28th from 7:45 A.M. - 3:45 P.M. in the school library and from 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29th in the PLC.

8.      We want to make OLPH Grandparents' Day, Friday, April 29, 2016 a wonderful day for all, so we need your help! Please sign up to prepare the gifts (Monday-Wed next week), volunteer with moving the Book Fair and GP Day set-up (Thursday May 28), bring food for the brunch, greet, serve or clean-up (my favorite angels of all!). This is the one event of the year that you can earn those much-needed PIP hours for bringing in food. Many hands make light work! Sign up at http://vols.pt/tVz53J.
9.      Nature's Place is in need of a little TLC! Please plan to join us on Saturday, May 14 between 8:30 and noon to get our garden area ready for summer. If we get enough help, we may be tackling other parts of the campus, as well. Sign up at http://vols.pt/AuLNwC.
10.    Keep Collecting those Box Tops! Our final collection date for the year will be Friday, May 6. This should give our volunteers enough time to do the counting to determine our winning grade. Prize TBD.
11.    Virtus Training Session will be held on Thursday, May 5th from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. in the PLC.  Virtus training is  required for any parent that chaperones field trips or dances, coaches sports teams or volunteers anywhere in the presence of students.
12.    Catholic Football Tumblers. We will be sending out a flyer this week to help support a student in his efforts to send him to the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.
13.   It's that time of year again for the OLPH annual art show! I wanted to let everyone know about some important changes we're making this year. You no longer need to submit framed artwork to me for the art show. Artwork will be hung without framing on butcher paper panels in the gym instead of the PLC. It is our hope that these changes will allow our visiting family members more time to enjoy artwork during the Grandparent's Day celebration.
Most of the art projects this year have been kept at school in student portfolio's. The only exception to this is artwork that may have been taken out of portfolio's at Christmas. If you or your child have unframed 2D artwork at home that you would like to bring in for the art show you may select up to 2 pieces to turn in to Mrs. Mullins by Wednesday, April 27. Turn artwork into the front office. Artwork must be created in art class this calendar year.
If you are in Pre-K, Kindergarten, or After School Art, please turn in your favorite 2 pieces of artwork from this year to be included in the art show!  Please do not include framing. All artwork must be received by Wednesday, April 27. Turn artwork into the front office. Please make sure that names are visible on the front of the artwork. To make this art show awesome, Mrs. Mullins really needs some parent volunteers to help prep artwork for the show and assist with hanging and taking things down. We're also in need of some additional tools. Sign up to bring tools or PIP hours today! We're using VolunteerSpot (the leading online signup and reminder tool) to organize our upcoming activity.
Here's how it works in 3 easy steps:
1. Click this link to go to our invitation page on VolunteerSpot:
http://vols.pt/AsnSsr
2. Enter your email address: (You will NOT need to register an account on VolunteerSpot)
3. Sign up! Choose your spots - VolunteerSpot will send you an automated confirmation and reminders. Easy!
