CRAZY SOCK DAY THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL TREAT IF THE SCHOOL MEETS THE READING GOAL OF 1,000 AR POINTS. THERE WILL BE AN ASSEMBLY AT 2:25 FOR THE GRADES THAT PARTICIPATE IN THE AR READING CONTEST

·        Celebration of Life - Celebration of Life for Mrs. Jeri McInturff: Please come join her family for a celebration of Mrs. McInturff's life on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at OLPH Church.  Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. with a reception after in the Parish Life Center. ·        Preschool and Kindergarten Open House - OLPH School will be having a PreSchool and Kindergarten Open House on March 7, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M.  We want to invite prospective families that will have children of school age.  The child must be 3, 4, or 5 before August 15, 2019, to register for 2019/2020 school year.  If you know a family that is interested in finding a great program, please invite them to attend.  We have a really good referral program and if the family does enroll, you will receive a $100.00 off of your 2019/2020 registration fee.  If you have any questions, please call Teresa Hennen at 423-698-3274 or email, teresahennen@myolph.com.
·        Paddy's and Pints - Have you purchased your tickets for Paddy & Pints, coming up on March 9? It's going to be a great evening you will not want to miss. Single tickets are now $40 each but will be going up to $50 on Monday, Feb 25 at 10 PM (Yes, we have extended the deadline)! Just send in a check or cash to the school office and tickets can be sent home with your student. If you would like to get some of your class families or friends together, you can show your support of our school and go in together on a reserved table of 8 beginning at $650. If you are unable to attend but would like to participate in the online auction, be sure to register your account on the Bidding for Good website. AFTERNOON PICK-UP Procedure: All grades will dismiss together at the same time. Pick up will take place at the back of the gym. All cars must enter through the church parking lot and exit through the driveway behind the gym. Students may not walk to any car in any parking lot without adult accompaniment. 

               Walk-up dismissal: 
·        PreK - K - Parents can pick up students in Madonna Hall 
·        Grades 1 -8 walk-up dismissal parents will wait outside the gym doors nearest the multipurpose room entrance. Once all students are in place, the doors will be opened for parents to enter with their car tag. Students will be dismissed only to adults with a valid car tag. Temporary tags can be picked up at any time in the main office prior to dismissing.

SCHOOL NEWS:  Lego League, Celebration of Life for Jeri McInturff, Catholic School Raffle Winners and PreSchool and Kindergarten Open House
·        Lego League - Calling all Lego Enthusiasts in Prek-4 through 3rd grade! Come work on amazing projects while incorporating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and practicing 21st Century skills such as communication, critical thinking, creativity, and communication.  Beginner Lego League (PreK-4  through 2nd grade) will work on understanding basic Lego building and design by using Lego kits to improve understanding of Lego instruction books, build custom Lego designs, and work on team-building activities. WHO:  OLPH Students in PreK-4 - 3rd WHEN: Tuesdays 3:30 to 5 pm. WHERE: Kindergarten rooms COST: $80 Online Registration Required. Snacks are provided. If you have any questions or would like more information, Program starts 2-19-2019 and ends 3-19-2019. We meet from 3:30 to 5:30 and includes a snack. Prek - 2nd we have 12 seats open and this is taught by Mr. Gass. The cost is $80 JR FLL is 2nd and 3rd grades. If you are interested the Meets are typically held on Mondays, there are no weekend commitments and practices are on campus directly after school. A stipend is offered for your time and commitment. ·        The Winter Sports Banquet is on Wednesday, February 20th at 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. in the OLPH Gym.  Team Members and families from all of the basketball teams and cheerleaders are invited.  The Booster Club will provide pizza.  We are asking that the families provide the following:  Families with last name of A-H: Side dishes, Families with last names of  I-P: Desserts, Families with last names of Q-Z: Drinks.

·        Knights of Columbus Valentine's Dance - The Knights of Columbus #6099 is, sponsoring a Valentine's Dance on Saturday, February 9th at 6:30 P.M. at 7111 Lee Highway Chattanooga, TN.  Dance the night away to music provided by: The Beaters.  It is $25.00 a person.  There will be 50/50 Raffle tickets for $10.00.  Call 423-899-9989 to reserve a table or call Roger Qualey 423-718-5523 if you have any questions.  All proceeds benefit people with intellectual disabilities.

·        It’s that time already!!!  SPRING SPORTS SIGN UPS!!!!  Catholic Baseball (MS), Volleyball (Elem and MS), Golf (5th-MS or previous golf experience?) and Track (Elem and MS) will be offered this spring. 
If you know your child is going to play one of these sports please go ahead and sign up ASAP!  Practices will start mid to late February!  Games begin early March.
