SCHOOL NEWS:  Rice Bowls, Chattanooga Deanery Lenten Reconciliation Services, Stations of the Cross, School Advisory Board and Home and School

·        Rice Bowls - During Lent our community will participate in CRS Rice Bowl, a faith in action program that invites us to encounter the needs of the world with the hope of the Resurrection. Bowls will be collected at the end of Lent.

·        Reconciliation Services -. April 1--6:30 P.M. St. Bridget Dayton, TN. April 3--7:00 P.M. Holy Spirit Soddy Daisy, TN.

·        Stations of the Cross - Each Friday during Lent we will have the Stations of the Cross at 6:00 P.M. in the Church followed by a Lenten dinner in the PLC. Join us to, "Walk the Way of Christ".

·        School Advisory Board - OLPH School’s Advisory Board is now accepting applications for 2019-20 Board openings. Our School Advisory Board meets every 6-8 weeks during the school year (currently a Wednesday night at 6pm) and serves as an advisory board to the Pastor and Principal of OLPH School. The Advisory Board is an ideal way for parents to become more involved in the school and to help support our school's strategic plan. Membership is open to parents of OLPH students, alumni of OLPH School, parents of alumni, and members of OLPH parish. Please prayerfully consider serving in this very important school ministry. The Application, By-Laws, OLPH Mission and Letter from Mrs. Fox are available in the School Office.

·        Home and School - Home and School has opened nominations for the 2019-2020 school year. Please prayerfully consider nominating someone or yourself to be on the Home and School Executive Board. All nominations will be spoken to and asked to make sure that they want to participate. No nomination will be ignored even if they are a current member of the board. A nomination does not guarantee that person a place on the board an election will still have to be completed once nominations are confirmed.

SCHOOL NEWS:  PreSchool and Kindergarten Open House, Paddy and Pints, Girl Scouts and Rice Bowls

·        Preschool and Kindergarten Open House - OLPH School will be having a PreSchool and Kindergarten Open House on March 7, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M.  We want to invite prospective families that will have children of school age.  The child must be 3, 4, or 5 before August 15, 2019, to register for 2019/2020 school year.  If you know a family that is interested in finding a great program, please invite them to attend.  We have a really good referral program and if the family does enroll, you will receive a $100.00 off of your 2019/2020 registration fee.  If you have any questions, please call Teresa Hennen at 423-698-3274 or email, teresahennen@myolph.com.

·        Paddy and Pints - Have you purchased your tickets for Paddy & Pints, coming up on March 9? It's going to be a great evening you will not want to miss. Single tickets are now $50. Just send in a check or cash to the school office and tickets can be sent home with your student. If you would like to get some of your class families or friends together, you can show your support of our school and go in together on a reserved table of 8 beginning at $650. The Auction is now open! As of noon Friday, March 1, you will be able to start placing your bids on your favorite items in the Paddy & Pints auction. ·        Girl Scouts - The Power of Cookies: OLPH Girl Scouts support Ghana Water Project. OLPH Troop 40202 recently donated $2000 to build a Water Well at St. John Vianney middle school in Wurapong, Ghana. We are proud of this group of girls who voted to use their proceeds from cookie sales to help others.

·        Rice Bowls - Wednesday March, 6 is Ash Wednesday the beginning of lent. During Lent our parish and school community will participate in Catholic Relief Services. Rice Bowl program. Each child will bring home a rice bowl on Wednesday with more information.
