3.
Service Project - It's getting cold outside and many children in the greater
community do not have coats. For Catholic Schools Week coming up in
January, we are collecting gently used or new children's coats for the East
Lake Elementary School community in Chattanooga. Please donate your
child's outgrown coat or brand new one this winter to a child in need. We
will be collecting coats until the end of January. You can send the coats
in to the office any time until Catholic Schools Week, and they will be sent to
those in need. Thank you for helping us to be Christ to the world!
4.
Makers Club - Makers Club will be doing a Makers and Breakers
next Tuesday and Wednesday. Makers and Breakers is a program where students in 3rd through
8th grade take things apart to learn how they work. As they break them
down for their parts they learn the engineering of building. The cost $25
per student for the two days. We will meet from the end of school until 5 pm.
There are only 4 seats remaining for this particular event. Please go
to https://squareup.com/store/glenn-gass to register and
pay. Sorry you must register through the webpage.
5.
Food City - The deadline for registering
your Food City ValuCard to support OLPH School is coming up December 27! Registration
must be renewed each school year. Help us earn points with
every dollar you spend there. Our point total on May 7, 2019, determines our
share of the $700,000 they will give away to area schools. Log into your
account (or create one) and choose Our Lady of Perpetual Help to link your card
to our school. (For some reason you have to click the Login button again after
you are logged in to get to the page with School Bucks update box.) https://www.foodcity.com/content/227/
You can also show the cashier the barcode to
scan with your card. Pick one up from the table outside the office. Our account
only shows 23 cards linked and I know we have more Food City shoppers than
that! Bonus points this year for Food City Community Cash gift cards we sell
through Scrip.
