SCHOOL NEWS:  Yearbook Ads, Grandparents Day, Makers Club, School Advisory Board, Spring Fling, Notre Dame Production, PIP Hours, House Numbers, and Holy Week Schedule

1.      Yearbook - It is time to purchase ads for our Yearbook.  If you are interested in buying a whole, half or quarter of a page in the yearbook, there are forms available in the school office.  Cost is $100 for a whole page, $50 for a half page, and $25 for a quarter of a page.  This is a great way to remember the school year.  Order forms for the yearbook are also available in the school office.
2.      Grandparents Day - Grandparents Day is coming up on Friday, May 5th. If you need to add, edit, or remove a Grandparent address from ParentsWeb, please contact Cissy West at cwest@myolph.com.  If you are interested in working on the planning for Grandparents’ Day, contact Cissy West if you want to help.
3.      Makers Club - Makers Club has an introduction to scuba experience arranged for April 27, after school, at ChooChoo Dive and Aquatic Center.  The cost is $25. The program is open to anyone ages 10 and up. This is a one day event and will last for about 2 hours with 20 minutes of dive time per person. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Gass by April 20th at 423-580-9528. You MUST preregister for this event as there are forms that we will need.
4.      School Advisory Board - The OLPH School Advisory Board is now accepting applications for 2017-18 Board openings.  Our School Advisory Board meets every other month, with sub-committee's meeting  on the off month (typically a Wednesday night at 6pm) and serves as an advisory board to the Pastor and Principal of OLPH School.  Membership is open to parents of OLPH students, alumni of OLPH School, parents of alumni, and members of OLPH parish.  Please prayerfully consider serving in this very important school ministry.  Applications will be available in the school office next week and will due no later than Wednesday, April 13. 5.      Spring Fling - Please join us as we celebrate Spring and the END of testing! Enjoy social time with our school community. Home and School will provide hamburgers and hotdogs. You bring the lawn chairs, lawn games, and a food item to share (see the link to volunteer spot on what to bring). You can also work on those last minute PIP hours https://signup.com/client/invitation/6775657374/1851419/false#!1851419/false/false (sign-up to help with set-up/serving/clean-up). Please RSVP to the Facebook event with the number attending OR to rams.home.and.school@gmail.com so that we can prepare enough food for the evening.
6.      Notre Dame Production - Notre Dame High School Theatre is proud to present this year's musical entitled "You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown", based on "Peanuts" comic strip by Charles M. Schultz.  The production runs April 21-23, 2017 with performances at 7:00 on Friday and Saturday and 2:00 on Sunday.  Tickets are free with ID for Diocesan students and employees and $10 general admission.
7.      PIP Hours - DID YOU KNOW that there is one place that you can go to see all the volunteer opportunities available for parents at OLPH? The end of the school year is rapidly approaching, and many families have not met their required PIP hours - but have no fear! There are still many opportunities to do your part! Check out the " Parent Involvement" tab http://school.myolph.com/resources/pip.cfm for all the links to sign up for:

SPORTS NEWS
·         Summer Football Camp is set for June 5th -9th, 9am-12pm. The camp is open for rising 2nd through 8th graders. Please mark your calendars.  Registration forms will soon be available. 
·        The OLPH Booster Club is now accepting applications to become a board member for the 2017-2018 school year. Next year holds lots of exciting opportunities for the OLPH sports program. We meet monthly, usually off campus, and have a lot of fun.  If you would like to contribute to the athletic program please get involved as a booster club board member.  If interested, please pick up an application in the front office.  Any questions, feel free to contact Dawn Brown at 502-931-3864 or dawnbrown636@gmail.com, other current board members are: Kari Ingle, Tim Soard, Emily Lindsey and Erin Gabbert. Applications are due by 4/19/2017.  Thank you!
