SCHOOL NEWS:  Volunteer Opportunity, Virtus Training, Salad Bar, Makers Club and NeuroBridge Screenings
1.      Volunteer Opportunity - On Monday, October 22, our teachers are having a Professional Development Day. In order for your child not to miss school that day, we are asking for parent volunteers, that are Virtus trained, to cover classes so the teachers may attend the PD on Project Based Learning. This is part of our 5 year Strategic Plan to promote a 21st Century Curriculum.

2.      Virtus Training - We are having the Virtus class in Spanish , Saturday November 10th from 9am to 12pm here at OLPH in the PLC, please register for the class at www.virtus.org , where it says; español - acceso o inscripción and follow the instruccions there. For more information you can call Laura Moore at 423-622-7232. Please don't bring kids to this class.

3.      Salad Bar - The Salad Bar is Here! The 5th grade may participate the week of 10/15/18.
4.      Makers Club - Micro Makers Lego Academy will be meeting on the second Tuesday of each month this fall.  Micro Makers will meet from 3:30 until 5:30 pm.  This program is targeted at prek-4 to first grade students.  We will have slots for 10 kids per day. This is an edu-play activity.  We will have a large number of Legos and middle school makers to help supervise the kids.  The cost for this program is $15 per meeting.    Due to Fall Break our next meeting is Tuesday the 16th from 3:30 to 5:30.  Please pay by check or online at https://squareup.com/store/glenn-gass
5.      neuroBridge Screenings - neuroBridge will be screening children at OLPH on Monday, October 29. Please see attachment for a form. nB is a pediatric therapy service provider.  They work with children who may be struggling to meet milestones or have underlying issues including poor motor planning, poor fine motor and gross motor coordination, and difficulty with balance or attending to task. They feel strongly about bringing their treatment model to the children at school.  neuroBridge has partnered with over 15 independent elementary and preschools in the Chattanooga area. They are passionate about working with children and helping each child reach their maximum potential. They look forward to screening your child.

SPORTS NEWS
·        Coach Lindsay will be having Open Gym time for 4th thru 8th grade boys starting Saturdays 
Oct 13 & 20th.  From 11am to 1pm. Come and sharpen your skills prior to the upcoming Basketball season.
·        Tennis and Cross Country seasons are finished so, it is time to get your uniforms turned in.  Please, bring all uniforms in washed and in a bag labeled with your name.  Turn in Mrs. Ingle's classroom.  Soccer uniforms will not be given out until we receive your previous sports uniform.
